My wife loves the Cinderella fairytale. While we were dating I arranged a romantic weekend getaway before going off to training for the USAF. She was thinking this probably was going to be the end of our relationship since we had been dating almost a year and I still hadn’t proposed. I didn’t tell her where we were going, so she slept most of the trip. I surprised her by waking her up as we drove into Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. On the last night, I made arrangements to have dinner at Cinderella’s Castle and got the best seat in the house to view fireworks. I asked how she enjoyed the trip, (obviously thinking this may be our last trip together) she answered, “I always thought of Disney as a place where magical things happen.” So after dinner I ordered desert and when they came back, the waitress brought a glass slipper with a ring tied to it. She didn’t know quite what to think at first, until I got on my knee, untied the ring, and proposed as the fireworks went off at Cinderella’s castle. I guess magic really does happen at Disney!
