SHANNON, Miss. (WCBI) — A Monday night shooting lands a convicted felon back behind bars.

Shannon Police say 24-year-old Marterius Sanders is charged with aggravated assault for shooting 26-year-old Terrance Scott outside Cedar Ridge Apartments.

Police say Scott drove into the apartment complex and was approached by Sanders, who fired two shots. One struck Scott in the back but he was able to drive himself to North Mississippi Medical Center.

Sanders was arrested a short time later by Shannon and Verona police.

Sanders’ bond is set at $100,000. He also is charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
