Cool Tonight, Warmer Days Ahead

Skies will be mostly clear tonight and overnight lows will dip back into the low and mid 40s.  A few upper 30s are possible in far northeast Mississippi around Corinth and Iuka; however, the threat of frost will stay up in Tennessee.

Thursday will be a fair day around this part of the world.  It looks like we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds along with high temperatures in the 70s.

There will be a 20% chance of rain north of US 78 on Friday but it really appears as if Tennessee will see the bulk of the moisture.  Temperatures will warm back up to around 80 by the afternoon.  Conditions will be pleasant for high school football once again.

As luck would have it, the warmest day of the week will come on Saturday.  Plan on highs in the mid 80s along with mostly sunny skies.  No issues are expected during the big games in Oxford or Starkville.

A cold front will give all of us a 40% chance of rain on Sunday as it slides in from the west.  There is some potential for a few stronger storms during the day but we’ll just have to see how the ingredients come together.
