Corinth Cab Driver Fatally Shot in Robbery

CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) — Corinth police are looking for the person who shot and killed a cab driver early Sunday morning.

Capt. Ralph Dance tells WCBI the shooting stemmed from a robbery outside of Liberty Cab Company on Taylor Street.

Dance believes the shooter was waiting for 66-year-old Cleo Henderson to leave the building.

When Henderson walked outside, he was shot.

The shooter then took some items from Henderson’s cab car.

A coworker found his body around 2:30 a.m., but police say Henderson was likely killed about an hour earlier.

Dance says right now they don’t have a lot of information, but they do believe the shooting and robbery were random.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Corinth police department, or Northeast Mississippi Crimestoppers.
