Corinth Man Gets 10 Years in Shooting

CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) — A Corinth man faces 10 years in prison. But if he runs afoul of the law again, he could spend 20 more years behind bars.

Bacarra Lamar Hill, 26, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in connection with the Feb. 18, 2013 shooting of 29-year-old Andraea Stovall outside a Corinnth apartment complex. Stovall was shot three times when Hill drove up to the car in which Stovall was sitting and opened fire.

Hill was sentenced to 20 years for the shooting and another 10 years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Twenty of the years were suspended, leaving 10 to serve. But if he violates his probation once released, he could be ordered to serve the remaining years.
