Corinth Man Shot In The Back

CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI)– A late Friday night shooting left one injured and another on the run.

Corinth police are investigating to find out what happened in the Combs Court apartment of  South Corinth.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at 10:18 Friday night and found Mike Murphy with a single gunshot wound in the lower back.

Authorities say there was an apparent confrontation between Murphy and a young black male outside of the 712-D Pierre St home. The unidentified male later knocked on the door of the home and shot Murphy as he attempted to run.

Murphy was transported to Magnolia Regional Health Center.

Corinth Police Chief Ralph Dance said the person of interest is a 17 to 19 years old black male .
