Corinth to Discuss How to Spend Funds

CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) – The continuing conflict over spending Corinth’s tourism revenues will get a public airing January 2nd.

Corinth aldermen, Alcorn County supervisors and the Corinth area Convention and Visitors Bureau will meet in a joint session to discuss allocating revenues among operations of the Crossroads arena, tourism promotion and marketing and Crossroads Regional Park. The city’s 2% hotel and restaurant tourism tax generates about $900,000 annually.

Earlier this year, aldermen and supervisors created some internal conflicts by putting more strings on how those funds are spent.
