Corinth Woman Arrested on Narcotics Charges

CORINTH, Miss. (Daily Journal) — A Corinth woman is being held in Alcorn County Jail after being arrested today on narcotics charges.

Phyllis Denise Walker, 50, of 613 Scale Street, was a passenger in a car stopped on County Road 237 in Farmington on suspicion of transporting narcotics, said narcotics Investigator Darrell Hopkins.

Officers detected the scent of marijuana upon stopping the car, and arrested Walker on a previously issued warrant for sale of cocaine. A further search of her belongings revealed cocaine and marijuana in her purse.

Walker was charged with sale of cocaine and felony possession of cocaine.

Bond was set at $7,500, but she remains in jail on hold for the Mississippi Department of Corrections due to her being on probation, Hopkins said.
