CPD Arrests 4 on Drug Charges

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus police arrested four last week in two separate drug cases.

According to a press release provided by the Columbus Police Department (CPD), police conducted a routine traffic stop Dec. 17 on Jeremy Winston for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation, officers discovered Winston to be in possession of a felony amount of marijuana.

Winston was charged with possession of marijuana more than an ounce.

However, CPD narcotics agents, per the release, “obtained further information and executed a search warrant” on Winston’s 312 Forrest Blvd apartment.

Narcotics agents allegedly discovered a felony quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine inside the home.

Winston’s sister Sharmia Winston and Sierra Rhodes were inside the home at the time of the search.

Jeremy Winston, Sharmia Winston and Rhodes were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

In a separate case, police arrested Bobby Davis Dec. 18 following a traffic stop in the 1800 block of 14th Avenue North.

Davis was pulled over for speeding.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered Davis to be under the influence of an unknown substance, and discovered him to be in possession of cocaine.

Davis was charged with speeding, DUI second, providing false information to police, suspended driver’s license and felony possession of cocaine.
