Crash Claims Life in Webster County

FROM THE MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY PATROL

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. — A fatal crash occurred on Hwy. 15 North at the Natchez Trace in Webster County Monday afternoon around 3:00 PM.

A 1999 Chevrolet gold Suburban driven by 81-year-old Clifford Thomas Jr. of Louisville pulled off of the Natchez Trace onto Hwy. 15 in front of a south bound 2007 black Dodge Ram driven by 43-year-old David B. Andrews of Mantee.

The pick-up collided with the passenger side of the Suburban. A passenger in the Suburban, 78-year-old Margaret Thomas of Louisville was air lifted to NMMC in Tupelo where she later died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Suburban, Mr. Thomas was transported to NMMC in Tupelo by ambulance and was listed in serious condition. The driver of the pick-up, Mr. Andrews was transported by ambulance to OCH in Starkville and was listed in serious condition.

The accident is still under investigation by MHP.
