LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The wooden cross symbolizing unity and a hope for racial reconciliation made its way through Lowndes County today.
Four Heritage Academy seniors carried the cross through part of Lowndes County.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes in conjuction with Mission Mississippi is taking the cross through the state’s 82 counties in 82 days.
The four students took over the cross from Noxubee County FCA students at the Weyerhaeuser Exit on Highway 45 just after noon today.
The cross is expected to make its way to the state capital on October 27-th.
