LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s important to plant the seed of living a drug free life at an early age.

Some fifth graders from Winston County pledged to stay drug free Friday (4-19).

The youngsters graduated from DARE Program.

Drug Abuse Resistance Education consists of a series of classroom lessons.

It gives kids the tools they need to resist peer pressure and avoid alcohol, drugs and violence.

Louisville police teamed up with Mrs. Mississippi America Sagen Gunnoe and her husband Lacy, who is a Major in the United State Air Force, to teach the class.

More than 5 thousand students have graduated from the local program over its 17 year history.
