Decline In Corporal Punishment

UNDATED, Miss. (WCBI)-Mississippi school districts are seeing a decline in corporal punishment. Mississippi is one of 19 states that still use corporal punishment in schools. A report finds that during the 2011 to 2012 school year students were physically punished, typically with a wooden paddle 39,000 times compared to the 2007 to 2008 school year of 58,343 instances. That punishment was meted in 99 of the states 151 school districts.
