Dudy Noble Field will be packed once again for the 2013 season as season ticket sales continue to rise prior to the season opener in February.

With nearly a month to go before the start of the 2013 campaign and sales continuing daily, the MSU Athletic Ticket Office reported Friday it had processed orders for 5,075 baseball season tickets. It’s the 12th consecutive year that Bulldog baseball season ticket sales have topped the 5,000 mark.

The Bulldogs, ranked 13th by Collegiate Baseball newspaper in the first preseason baseball poll for 2013, launches a school-record 37-game home schedule and a season-opening 19-game homestand Feb. 15-17 with a four-game weekend series against first-time foe Portland.

Interest is building for John Cohen’s fifth Mississippi State Bulldog edition. The Bulldog roster features 23 lettermen returning from last year’s squad that posted a 40-24 record and advanced to NCAA postseason play after winning the SEC Tournament Championship. The veteran squad includes 14 of the 18 players who drew starts in the Bulldog batting order last spring and 12 of the 19 pitchers that combined for an SEC-leading 2.58 staff earned run average, second-best in the NCAA.

Season tickets are priced at $180 (general admission) and $200 (chairback reserved seats) and sold through the Mississippi State University Athletic Ticket Office (662-325-2600). The ticket office (www.HailState.com/tickets) is also accepting orders for tickets ($12 each) for the 2013 “First Pitch/Fan Day” baseball celebration Feb. 9 in MSU’s Palmeiro Center. Former MSU and current Washington Nationals outfielder Tyler Moore is the featured speaker at this year’s event, which begins at 11 a.m. and wraps up with a 2:15 p.m. baseball scrimmage at Dudy Noble Field.
