COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – An innovative program designed to reconnect everyone from drop outs to advanced students and home schoolers to Columbus public schools is kicking off.
Superintendent Dr. Martha Liddell outlined the state pilot project called Project 20-20 to Columbus Rotarians Tuesday (9/25).  School counselors have started calling as many as 300 students in the area who’ve dropped out in the last two years to try to get them into the program, which uses Internet classes and one-on-one assistance at local churches and community centers.  The E-centers will be picked next month.  Other students also can use the program for everything from advanced courses to dual college enrollment classes without ever having to enter a traditional school.
