Dump Truck Overturns Wednesday Afternoon on Hwy 69

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A dump truck overturned this afternoon in Lowndes County, creating a traffic nightmare.

The incident happened about 2:30 p.m. this afternoon on Hwy 69, near First Colony.

State troopers said the dump truck driven by 31 year-old Donnie Johnson II, of Burnsville, swerved to miss a car which had been stopped to make a turn.

The big rig hit a ditch and overturned. Johnson wasn’t injured.

The truck is owned by Edge Construction of Tremont.
