Elvis Fest Adds More Acts

TUPELO, Miss. (Press release) – The Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association continues to make additions to the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Tupelo Elvis Festival, which will be held June 6-9, 2013. The Fairpark entertainment lineup has developed into a high energy and exciting festival.

Earlier this year, award-winning duo Montgomery Gentry was announced as the Saturday night headliner. To start off the night is a performance by Surviving Allison. The local hip band will take stage at 7:00pm and lead into the rest of the night. Opening for Montgomery Gentry, the Tupelo Elvis Festival will welcome Skylar Laine to the stage. Skylar Laine took America by storm when she competed in American Idol Season 11, where she sung her way into the Top 5. This Brandon, Mississippi native was praised for her magnetic and sparkling personality, her rockin’ stage presence and her authentic country vocals that often moved her audience to tears.

Friday night will kick off with Kirk Chism and The Lost Highway at 7:00pm, followed by Cadillac Three, a country/rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. The three-member band has recently been signed to Nashville label Big Machine Records, which is the home of many well-known country musicians. Cadillac Three will open for headliner the New Orleans rock band, Cowboy Mouth.

As tribute to Tupelo’s hometown son, each night will feature one of Tupelo’s Ultimate Elvis Preliminary winners. After all, Elvis made country cool.

Tickets for each Fairpark concert will be on sale Friday, March 1, 2013 at 10:00AM CT. Weekend passes (1 ticket for Friday night and 1 ticket for Saturday night) are twenty dollars.
