Entergy Miss. Leader to Speak Next Week at MSU Commencement

STARKVILLE, Miss. (Press Release) — Fall semester graduates at Mississippi State will hear from university alumnus and utility company executive Haley R. Fisackerly before receiving their degrees at the Dec. 13 commencement.

A Columbus native and 1987 management graduate, Fisackerly is president and CEO of Entergy Mississippi, Inc. He also holds a master’s degree from George Washington University in public policy administration, with an emphasis in executive, legislative and regulatory management.

The graduation program begins at 10 a.m. in Humphrey Coliseum. More than 1,200 students are candidates for degrees.

Since June 2008, Fisackerly has led the electric utility that serves more than 441,000 customers in 45 counties covering the western half of the Magnolia State.

Before joining Entergy, he worked for several years on the staff of U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran. In addition to managing the Washington office, he assisted the senator with Mississippi economic development projects, as well as legislative matters related to energy policy, the environment and interior appropriations.

Fisackerly left Cochran’s office in 1995 to join Entergy’s Washington, D.C., office. In 1999, he was transferred to Little Rock, Arkansas, as director of system regulatory strategy.

He returned to his home state in 2002 as Entergy Mississippi’s vice president of customer operations. Prior to assuming his current duties, he was Entergy Nuclear’s vice president of governmental and regulatory affairs.

Long active in civic affairs, he is board chairman of the USA International Ballet Competition and a steering committee member for the Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights museums.

Fisackerly also serves on the boards of the Mississippi Museum of Art, Mississippi Works, Mississippi Energy Institute and MSU Foundation, and is a past chair of the Mississippi Economic Council. For more biographical information, visit www.entergy-mississippi.com/about_entergy/CEO.aspx.
