Escaped Inmate Takes MDOC Car For Joyride

GRENADA, Miss. (WCBI)-It was a joyride that was short lived.

Sunday night, Grenada police arrested an escaped inmate who somehow got ahold of a Mississippi Department of Corrections vehicle and decided to go for a drive.

Police received reports of a suspicious vehicle and found escaped inmate Joshua Terry still dressed in inmate clothing of green and white stripes driving a white Chevy Impala in the 100 block of Goza Street shortly after 11.

Police don’t know how Terry was able to escape or how he obtained keys to the vehicle.

Terry is charged with Felony Escape and Motor Vehicle Theft.
