AMORY – Amory High School presents “Swinging in the Limelight” for its 2012 Beauty Revue on Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Amory High School Auditorium.

They will swing back to the 1940s when jazz was hot and “jumping and jiving” were part of the dance craze that hit the nation.

Twenty-eight beauties and 12 beaus will compete for Most Beautiful and Most Handsome.

Honors will also be awarded for Mr. and Miss Congeniality, Most Photogenic Boy and Girl, and the Judges’ Spirit Award.

The young ladies compete in the categories of business wear, interview, and evening wear. The young men compete in evening wear and stage personality.

The participants will entertain the audience with an opening song and dance number to some of the big swing hits from the ‘40s.

Entertainment throughout the evening will feature song and dance numbers as well as featured AHS students Islan Burns, Mia Sims, Matthew Walker, Megan Greenhill, Caroline Corley, Reagan Huffman, Devan Hurley and Joseph Summers.

The hostess for the evening will be Peggy Holmes.

The evening is directed by Debbie Beddingfield, Laura Gibson and the Panorama Staff. Sally Laird will provide the dance choreography for the evening.

The following students will participate in the event: Samantha Atkins, Nastocia Bafford, Amber Burrough, Anna Kathryn Carson, Dani Coleman, Madison Crouch, Kayla Devauld, Katelyn Flynt, Tori Frantz, Destyne Galloway, Chelsea Harlow, Jordan Harris, Alexis Haywood, Elizabeth Higgins, Kanisha Howard, Ambrekka Ivy, Kaitlyn Mask, Madison McCollum, Morgan McCollum, Abby Layne McGonagill, Samantha Parish, Mckinsi Porter, Courtney Reeves, Rebecca Riddle, Jilanna Simmons, Jada Standifier, Shelby Sweatt, Payton Williams. Beaus participating are Chris Alim, Bryce Camp, Isaiah Carter, Alex Farrar, Kenneth Hill, Collin McCrory, Ben Oswalt, Jon David Poss, Walker Todd, Garrett Trautman, Hayden Williams and Bo Young.

Tickets may be purchased from Sandy Smith in the Amory High School office, 256-5753.

All tickets are reserved and are $8. All proceeds go to the high school yearbook.
