Annual Community Thanksgiving Program in Houston

HOUSTON – The Greater Houston Ministerial Alliance will host the annual Community Thanksgiving program Nov. 19 beginning at 7 p.m. The program will once again take place in the Houston High School auditorium and all interested persons from any location are welcome and invited to attend.
The service will feature guest speaker, Gary Permenter, as well as local ministers and speakers.
Permenter is a graduate of Mississippi State University and received his master’s and doctorate from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a speaker, Minster and spreads the message of God’s love across the nation through Gary Permenter Ministries.
Organizers of the Community Choir are currently meeting to select music. The choir is open to anyone who wishes to participate by raising his or her voice in thanks.
“They are looking for hymnal music,” said choir member Betty Brown of the selection process. “Something that everyone knows and can jump in and sing.”
Choir organizers are also hoping to enlist children and youth for choral selections.

An offering will be taken during the service to assist the Salvation Army and the Ministerial Alliance in helping the less fortunate all year long.
Bro. Randy Rinehart of Parkway Baptist Church is president of the Alliance and said he hopes to have a large crowd in attendance to give thanks for blessings received through the year.
“We just want to put out the word, ‘Y’all come!’” Rinehart said.
