Fraud and Abuse Conference sponsored by West Alabama Area Agency on Aging

On May 14th the West Alabama Regional Commission’s Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program is sponsoring a FREE seminar on the impact that fraud and abuse has on the healthcare industry as well as individuals. Guest speakers from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for North Alabama and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama will present on how to avoid such abuse and share examples of these criminal acts that affect the cost of healthcare benefits for both the insurance industry as well as individuals.
The seminar will be held in the Family Life Center at St Mark United Methodist Church in Northport—1421 McFarland Blvd, 35476, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Professionals, Older Americans, caregivers and the general public are welcome to attend. Come learn how to protect your personal information and healthcare; learn how to detect abuse, fraud and waste; and learn how and where to report such acts.
