Healthy West Point Task Force Invites Kids to First Jungle Adventure Race

WEST POINT, Miss.-The Healthy West Point Task Force is sponsoring The Jungle Adventure Race for children ages 5-12 on Friday, May 24, on the grounds of the North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point Wellness Center.
Children will compete in one of four age categories. Categories and their starting times are: ages 5-6, 1:45 p.m.; ages 7-8, 2:30 p.m.; ages 9-10, 3:15 p.m.; and ages 11-12, 4 p.m.
The Jungle Adventure Race ?-mile course includes obstacles and moves such as the chimpanzee walk, rope climb, kangaroo hop, baboon boogie, deep woods dig, jungle trek, spider web scuttle, lion leap, boa constricted, culvert crawl, mud pit, crocodile creep, high canopy crossing (zip lines), eel slither, elephant spray and scorpion sand scramble.
“We promise you muddy, wet fun,” said Tracy Stebbins, director of the NMMC-West Point Wellness Center and one of the event’s organizers. “It will be a great way for kids to start their summer!” Participants are encouraged to bring a towel and a change of clothes.
