ICC All-American Band sets drum major, color guard, twirler and dance line auditions

Auditions for drum major, color guard, twirler and dance line for the Itawamba Community College All-American Band will be at 4 p.m., Mar. 22, at the Fulton Campus.

Those who wish to try out should report to the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center.

To audition for drum major, participants must demonstrate salute, two-to-three minute routine to show drum major abilities and demonstrate marching ability, vocal commands and conducting various time signatures. Candidates will also interview with the ICC band staff. A uniform is preferred for the audition.

Color guard members are selected by audition demonstrating the following: basic maneuvers on equipment (spins, tosses, etc.) and marching ability; learn and perform a flag routine taught by the ICC guard instructor (must bring own flag) and exhibit outstanding attitude and willingness to work.

Indianettes are selected by audition according to demonstrating flexibility (splits, kicks, etc.) and learning and performing a routine that will be taught by the ICC dance instructor. Weight and size will be a determining factor.
