Veteran’s Day Program at Montgomery County Courthouse
Date(s) - 11/10/2012
The Thomas Rodney Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Winona American Legion Post No. 52 will hold a Veteran’s Day program on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. in the Montgomery County Courthouse. Since November 11 is on a Sunday, the committee decided to schedule this program for Saturday, November 10.
The 92 American flags lining the Courthouse drive are a reminder of the men and women who gave their lives for our country, beginning with World War I.
A color guard from the American Legion will post the colors, several patriotic songs will be sung by Steve Lester; and a certificate from the DAR will be presented to each Korean War veteran who filled out a form in May at the Memorial Day Program. Guest speaker will be Ranny Henson, and prayers will be offered by several local ministers.
At the conclusion of the program a wreath will be placed at the monument to our war dead and buglers will sound taps. All veterans, families of veterans, and all the public are invited to come and participate in this program.
The committee responsible for organizing the program consists of Tee Golding, Ronald Bennett, Jeff Rodgers, and May Whatley.
