Fellow Patriotic Singers:

I want to invite each one of you to join the July 4th Community Chorus and sing with the Wind Orchestra on Thursday, July 4th, 2013 at Fairpark, in downtown Tupelo. The July 4th celebration will be held entirely at Fairpark this year instead of Ballard Park and we are all excited about the new venue and being a part of the festivities yet again.

There will be a total of four rehearsals for the performance on the 4th. The rehearsals prior to the 4th will take place in the West Jackson Street Baptist Church choir room at 7:00 p.m..

Rehearsal Schedule
Thursday, June 27, 7:00 p.m. – West Jackson Baptist Church

Monday, July 1, 7:00 p.m. – West Jackson Baptist Church

Tuesday, July 2, 7:00 p.m. – West Jackson Baptist Church

Thursday, July 4, 9:30 a.m. – Dress Rehearsal with Wind Orchestra at Fairpark
Thursday, July 4, 8:00 p.m. – Performance at Fairpark

(Performing Attire – Red T-shirts or tops with Dark Pants)

The program begins around 8:00 p.m. with the Orchestra and Chorus performing patriotic and American music conducted by David East. The total program will last around one hour. The Wind Orchestra will play the first half with the Chorus singing about six familiar patriotic songs for the second half. The fireworks follow immediately afterwards. It is a thrilling and wonderful way to celebrate our nation’s birthday with the city-wide community. Please come and join us.

If you wish to sing with the Chorus please register immediately by calling the Symphony Office at 662-842-8433 and leave your name and phone number. If possible, plan to attend all rehearsals but you must attend at least two rehearsals to be allowed to sing. I look forward to working with each of you in preparing for this great musical celebration on the 4th and appreciate your support and help.

Thank you.

Margaret Anne Murphey, President/Executive Director – North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra
