‘Possum Town Tales’ Storytelling Festival, Columbus, November 15-18

The Columbus Arts Council in Columbus, MS presents “Possum Town Tales First Annual Storytelling Festival”, Thursday, November 15 through Sunday, November 18, 2012. Come for a great fun- filled weekend of story performances at the Columbus Arts Council and Joe Cook Fine Arts Magnet School Auditorium.
The festival features local storytellers Brenda Pritchett and Edwina Williams as well as three internationally known professional storytellers, Dolores Hydock, Sheila Kay Adams and Len Cabral.
The storytelling weekend will feature “Homegrown Stories” (Thursday 6:30 PM) where locals are invited to come on stage to share a short story; Children’s Story Time (Saturday 10 AM-Noon), story performances for Friday Family Night and Saturday Stories for Grown-ups (7PM), a storytelling workshop (Saturday 1-3 PM), and a special “Lunch & Story” for mothers, daughters, sisters and friends (Sunday 1-3 PM).
Come join us for entertaining, heartwarming stories from some of our nation’s best storytellers as we laugh, smile and maybe shed a tear or two.
