PENSACOLA, Fla. (Oct. 30, 2012) — Fans of the world-renowned Blue Angels have one final chance to observe the acclaimed air show of the Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron on Nov. 2-3. Taking place aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola, known as the Cradle of Naval Aviation, the pilots will conclude their 2012 season soaring high above their home base.

During the Homecoming Air Show, the Pensacola Bay Area’s hometown heroes will stun the crowd with their maneuvers and gravity-defying, high-speed stunts in their famous F/A 18 Hornets, flying above nearly 200,000 spectators over the course of two days.

Both the Friday and Saturday shows begin at 9 a.m. CDT at NAS Pensacola, where visitors can enjoy static aircraft displays from the National Naval Aviation Museum, virtual reality experiences, a children’s area, food and beverage stations and much more.

The breathtaking air shows begin with a crowd favorite – the Blues’ C-130 Hercules transport airplane known as “Fat Albert,” which always thrills the audience with its short-field takeoff and low-level passes before the Blue Angels take to the Pensacola Bay Area skies.

The air show on Friday, Nov. 2 includes a visually stunning nighttime air show, which begins at 4 p.m. and features skydivers, jet-flown pyrotechnics, a fireworks display and more special aerial effects.

Admission and parking are free and open to the public. A complimentary shuttle service will also be available from on-base parking lots. Reserved seating is available for purchase; information on availability and rates is available by contacting NAS Pensacola at (850) 452-2583.

The Blue Angels take a winter hiatus when the Homecoming Air Show concludes. The 2013 season begins in March with a nationwide tour. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, from March through November, anyone in the Pensacola Bay Area can watch the Blue Angels practice their full-length air show at 8:30 a.m. behind the National Naval Aviation Museum, one of the world’s largest air and space museums. On some Wednesdays, the pilots are available to pose for photos and sign autographs. For more information or to access a copy of the 2013 Blue Angels schedule, go to
