At 3:44 CDT, Fall will officially begin. We couldn’t have asked for better timing of yesterday’s cold front to help us welcome in the season! Here’s the rest of your First Alert Forecast:
Today: Fall-like temperatures can be expected under dry and sunny skies. If you don’t already have plans outside today, you might want to make some! High temperatures will top out in the lower 80s with a cool northerly breeze.
Tonight: Overnight lows will dip into the mid to upper 50s again under clear, starry skies.
Monday: We won’t rule out a stray evening shower, though we expect sunny conditions to prevail on Monday. High temperatures will be slightly higher but still very comfortable in the mid 80s. Overnight, clouds will build in as moisture returns to the area.
Tuesday: Southeasterly winds will stream moisture into the area leading to a good chance for rain all day on Tuesday. Plan for cloudy to overcast conditions as well. High temperatures will be slightly cooler due to the rain, and they will top out in the low 80s for most. Showers will taper off into the evening, but there still could be a few strays overnight as lows drop into the mid 60s.
Looking Ahead: By mid-week, we expect things to clear out for the most part, leaving only a very small chance for afternoon showers. Highs for the week will gradually increase but should not exceed the 90 degree mark. Overnight low temperatures will stay in the mid-60s.
