Flu Shots at Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss.—The Longest Student Health Center at Mississippi State is offering flu vaccinations Tuesday [Dec. 11] from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the third floor of the facility.

The cost is $10 by cash or check. University students and employees may charge the payment to their MSU account. Insurance forms will not be filed.

Immunization participants must be at least 12 years old.

Health center officials said the MSU community recently has experienced an influx of influenza cases. A flu vaccination remains the best way to protect against the virus, they emphasized.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control’s website announced this week that “significant increases in flu activity in the U.S. in the last three weeks indicate that an early flu season is under way,” adding, “Get a flu vaccine now if you have not done so already.”
