CARROLLTON, Ga. (WCBI/Times-Georgian) – Following a lengthy search process, the University of West Georgia football program has landed its man.

Hall flew into Carrollton on Tuesday evening from Meridian, Miss., and returned Wednesday at approximately 4 p.m. According to the source, Hall confirmed his decision at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday. He spent the past three seasons as the head coach at West Alabama, going 25-11 during that time and guiding the Tigers to a pair of NCAA Playoff berths and the first outright GSC championship in school history in 2012. He is a two-time GSC Coach of the Year (2011-12).

Along with serving as the offensive coordinator at UWA prior to being promoted to the top spot after the 2010 season, Hall previously worked as an assistant at Arkansas-Monticello, Southwest Baptist University, Presbyterian College and Henderson State.

As a player, Hall was the Harlon Hill Trophy winner at North Alabama in 2003. The signal-caller led the Lions to the NCAA quarterfinals and a 13-1 showing during that campaign en route to All-American honors.

Hall replaces former West Georgia head coach Daryl Dickey, who has led the UWG program for the past six seasons. Dickey will remain the school’s athletic director.

Will Hall is a native of Amory and is the son of current Madison Central head coach Bobby Hall. Will helped lead the Panthers to the 1998 3A State Championship in football as their starting quarterback.
