Former Columbus-Lowndes County Airport Manager Arrested for Parts Theft
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The former manager of the Columbus-Lowndes County Airport has been arrested for grand larceny.
50-year-old Billy Scarbrough was arrested Monday by Columbus police.
Authorities say last spring Scarbrough allegedly authorized the removal of a part from an airplane kept at the airport. The part is worth more than $1,000, making the crime a felony.
The owner of the plane reported the incident to Columbus police.
Scarbrough’s bond is set at $5,000.
