Former SA Vols Baseball Player Named ASC Player of the Week

CLINTON, Miss. (WCBI/GoChoctaws.com)  – Mississippi College junior Jayme Monroe and freshman Hunter Bolin were named American Southwest Conference Players of the Week for their efforts in the series victory over Howard Payne last weekend.

Bolin (Starkville, Miss. / Starkville Aca.) went 7-for-11 (.636) with two runs scored, two RBI and five stolen bases. He was 5-for-6 on the basepaths on the weekend, giving him a team-high 12 swipes on the season. Bolin was moved to the leadoff spot for the doubleheader on Saturday and went 6-for-8 (.750) with four stolen bases.

Monroe, Bolin and the Choctaws will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to face Belhaven at Smith-Wills Stadium at 6:00 pm. MC will travel to Richardson, Texas to face Texas-Dallas in a three-game series beginning Friday afternoon.
