Fulbright Scholar To Visit Northside Boys, Girls Club

TUPELO, Miss. (Press Release) — At 1:30 p.m. June 12, Rainesha Miller, a Fulbright Scholar and graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine will visit the Northside Boys & Girls Club to speak with and inspire teen Club members.

Miller, a native of Birmingham, was one of few Southerners and minorities graduating from the small New England college in 2013 and delivered remarks to her graduating class.

As a child of a single parent home, Miller hopes to use her own personal experiences to help instill in other youth the tools that assisted in her educational and career achievements.

Following graduation from Bowdoin College, Miller traveled to Indonesia where she serves as a teacher to young students.

Over the past year, Miller has built a friendship with Tupelo’s Shawn Brevard who heard Miller deliver her graduation address. Both have worked to arrange a visit with members of the Tupelo Boys & Girls Club upon Miller’s return to the states.
