NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) — Fellow law enforcement officers, first responders and family and friends say goodbye to a Union County deputy killed in the line of duty.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in New Albany for 36-year-old Clinton Frazier.

The Union County sheriff’s deputy died last Wednesday night after his patrol car wrecked while he was chasing someone.

Officers from across the state attended Frazier’s funeral at New Albany Presbyterian Church.

Investigators say Frazier was trying to stop a car with no headlight and taillight.

The car fled, and Frazier crashed into an embankment.

27-year-old Crystil Byers is charged with culpable negligent homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Frazier leaves behind a wife and three daughters.
