Video: Giant Traveling Map Stops in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Some Starkville students got a gigantic geography lesson Thursday.

The National Geographic giant traveling map made a stop at Henderson Ward-Stewart.

The map of South America let the students explore the Amazon River and the Andes Mountains.

The basketball court-sized map is educational and entertaining, giving students a hands and feet-on lesson in geography and map-reading

The school district partnered with Mississippi State University to bring the map to Starkville.
