Giraffe Born in Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo celebrates its newest arrival.

A bouncing baby giraffe came into the world at six o’clock Friday (11-30) morning.

The calf is a male, but so far he does not have a name.

The Buffalo park is holding a naming contest.

This is the seventh giraffe born, at the zoo, to parents Tall Boy and Patches.

Baby giraffes typically stand about 6 feet tall and weigh 150 pounds, roughly the same size as a 16 year old Andrew Harrison.
