WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — The Golden Triangle Horse Rescue is helping horse owners better care for their four-legged friends.

The first ever horse education was hosted by the horse rescue at Eagle Ranch in West Point.

Several presentations were on display for horse owners to learn more about hoof care, nutrition and other basic needs.

One event organizer hopes these tools will help prevent future cases of horse neglect.

“We see so many starved horses that come through and rescue there is absolutely no sense in that and we’re hoping that by having Purina reps here today that people have learned how to take better care of the senior horses and mayor and foals,” says Teresa Scott.

The Golden Triangle Horse Rescue has helped over 100 horses in the last two years.
