Golf Tournament to Benefit Local Teen with Cancer

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Lowndes County residents are coming together to help a local teenager who has cancer.

They’ve planned a golf tournament later this month to benefit 14-year-old Will Ayers, who lives in Steens.

Will was diagnosed with cancer in February of last year, and is being treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

Money from the tournament, which will be on April 26, will help cover those expensive medical bills.

The Caledonia High School golf team and the Green Oaks Golf Club are hosting it.

It costs $40 per player.
