The stagnant weather pattern we’ve been dealing with recently will be sticking around into next week. Therefore, you can expect more heat, humidity, and scattered storms during the afternoon and early evening hours. Be sure to stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks if you will be spending lots of time outdoors during the peak heating hours.
Tonight: Evening storms will quickly dissipate with the loss of daytime heating and skies will become partly cloudy. Low temperatures will be in the mid 70s again so keep the fans and a/c blowing!
Friday: The weather will more or less be the same as we wrap up the first week of August. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 90s under partly cloudy skies. It will feel like the low 100s when you factor in the humidity. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible once again but the chance of rain will only be in the 30% range. Like the first part of the week, any storm that pops up could have gusty winds, tropical downpours and frequent lightning.
Weekend: More heat, humidity, and scattered storms are in our future. Highs will be in the 90s and overnight lows will be in the 70s. The odds of rain will be highest during the afternoon and early evening but not all locations will get wet. Hopefully we’ll see enough breaks both Saturday and Sunday night for the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower.
