STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Alumni of Oktibbeha County Training School and Henderson High School in Starkville are coming home to remember the past and invest in the future.

The bi-annual OCTS/Henderson High School reunion will be held July 5th thru 7th. Event organizers say they look forward to renewing old friendships at their reunion. James Turner says, “You get a chance to meet old friends; people that you haven’t seen in years.

Charles Ware adds that a highlight of the event is granting a scholarship to a deserving student. “Up to a thousand dollars and maybe even more . But it’s all about the future generations and giving these young men and women a start to get off to the right foot.”

Before schools integrated more than 40 years ago, “Henderson Hill” is where black students in Oktibbeha County were educated. The class of 1970 was the last to graduate from Henderson High School.
