ICC’s Hopper Named MACJC Softball Player of the Week

FULTON, Miss. (WCBI/LetsGoICC.com) – Itawamba Community College freshman outfielder and pitcher Cara Hopper (Caledonia) has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College’s (MACJC) Softball Player of the Week.

Hopper went 11-of-16 at the plate with 3 doubles, a home run, 5 RBI, 6 runs and a sacrifice bunt while scattering 6 hits, allowing no earned runs and striking out 6 batters in 6 innings of work to help the No. 15 Lady Indians (23-10, 15-3) go 5-1 last week and remain in first place in the MACJC North Division.

She is eligible for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Player of the Week, which will be announced on Wednesday afternoon.

ICC will travel to Goodman for a North Division doubleheader against Holmes Community College on Wednesday before stepping out of division play with a road twin bill at Gadsden State Community College on Saturday.
