Inmates Attempt to Smuggle Marijuana

ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)– Two men have been sent back to the Mississippi State Penitentiary after attempting to smuggle drugs.

Walter Lee Tutor, 22, and Dustin Lowe, were caught by guards attempting to bring marijuana into the Alcorn County Regional Correctional Facility on Tuesday.

Authorities say the two individuals each had marijuana duct taped to their leg when they returned from work detail.

The Alcorn Narcotics Unit was contacted and confiscated the marijuana.

Both Tutor and Lowe have been charged with felony introduction of a controlled substance into a correctional facility and their bond is set at $10,000.
