Investigation Finds No Criminal Wrong at CHS

CALEDONIA, Miss. (WCBI) — An investigation has found no unlawful acts by a Caledonia High staff member who has been suspended for three weeks.

However, the counselor still may resign because her name was made public and her reputation damaged.

Sources tell WCBI no money has been found missing but that a policy technically was violated because money wasn’t deposited immediately.

For six years, the counselor was in charge of sending transcripts to colleges for students for a $3 fee. Deposits sometimes weren’t made because it would cost more to drive to the bank in Columbus than the deposit was for.

During the six years, about 1,250 transcripts were sent but it’s unclear whether a fee always was collected.
