UPDATE Four Die In Itawamba County Fire

FULTON, Miss. (AP) — Four people died early Tuesday in a mobile home fire that investigators said was caused by a space heater as temperatures plummeted overnight in rural Itawamba County.

The Itawamba County Sheriff’s office says 35 year old Susan Chilcoat, 17 year old Shelby Cason, 2 year old Anna Clair Chilcoat and 3 month old Kaden Angle all died in the overnight blaze.

5 others were all injured in the fast moving fire which consumed the home at 2300 Highway 371 South.

State fire marshal Mike Chaney said in a news release Tuesday that the fire was caused by a space heater. He says space heaters pose high risk of fire, death and injury. Neighbors say by the time they noticed the 12:30 A.M. fire the blaze was too hot to attempt any type of rescue
