Itawamba Toddler Fundraiser

Earlier this year we brought you a story on an Itawamba county toddler that was severely burned in a accident.

2 year-old Gabriel or Gabe Wigginton suffered burns on 55 and half percent of his body and of that, 15 percent was third degree burns.

Up until now the boy has been in a drug induced coma.

Now the boy is awake and making a slow recovery.

The Greater Mantachie Fire Department is hosting a chili cook off and Fire Fighter Challenge on January 19th to help pay for Gabriel’s mounting bills.

Those cooking chili can set up at 12:20 the judging will be at 4PM.

Firemen wanting to participate in the challenge will need to meet at the high school no later than 12:30.

Challenge starts at one and firemen need to bring full gear and be on a team of 4 to 5 fire fighters for the five challenges.

Firefighter Challenge:

Course will have 4 challenges with a separate 2 minute drill, a total of 5 challenges. Teams will need to be 4-5 man teams.

Registration and Fees:

Chili Cook Off Entry Fee: $10

Firefighter Challenge Entry Fee: $25

All Registration fees due on arrival
