Jackson Wins Sturgis Special Election

STURGIS, Miss. (WCBI) – James Eric Jackson the Third has defeated Mallory Ware to fill a vacancy on the Sturgis Board of Alderman.
Jackson received 46 votes, while Ware got 27.

Seven additional votes, that are either affidavit or absentee, will be counted Wednesday (10-23) morning.

Then the election will be certified.

Jackson will serve the remainder Quinnia Yates term.

Yates recently stepped down due to health concerns.

Jackson has served on the Sturgis Board before, and spent several years as a vocational counselor.
