Judge Orders Mental Evaluation In Oxford Threat

Joshua Pillaut

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) – A federal judge has ordered a mental evaluation for a 19-year-old man charged with making online threats to attack Oxford High School.

However, U.S. District Judge Michael Mills ruled Wednesday that the examination of Jason Brandon Pillault would be conducted locally. Federal prosecutors wanted to have him tested at a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.

Mills says the results of the testing will be sealed. Depending on the results, Mills says prosecutors may ask for more testing under BOP direction.

Pillault was arrested Oct. 8.

Prosecutors say in court documents that Pillault made threats against Oxford High School in a chat room conversation while playing an online game. The threats were reported by a fellow player in Virginia.
