COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A frantic 911 call closes out the second day of testimony in a Columbus murder trial.

The Lowndes County Circuit Court jury heard a recording of the call Terecia Lee made from her home on Schoolhouse Road in Columbus in May 2010. A hysterical Lee tells the dispatcher someone has been shot in the chest and to send police.

Several people in the audience left the courtroom in tears while the tape played.

Ranzino Harris is charged with murder and aggravated assault in the death of Justin Murray and wounding of Michael Brewer at the home. Murray was trying to break up a dispute between Harris and a woman when the shooting occurred.

Harris claims he shot in self defense, but Lee told the jury on the first day of testimony that Harris left the home and returned with a gun and opened the door and fired at Murray.

Prosecutors are expected to rest their case Thursday after presenting autopsy results.

Harris faces up to life in prison if convicted.
