Jury To Hear Testimony Today in Cox Trial

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – Five men and ten women will hear from witnesses today as they decide the fate of David Neal Cox, Senior. The 41-year-old Pontotoc County man pleaded guilty on August 15 to the May 2010 shooting death of his estranged wife, Kim Kirk Cox, at her sister’s home in Sherman. The jury is awaiting testimony from witnesses about the overnight hostage situation, while others will tell the jury about Cox’s mental state and other factors. The two days of jury selection, which ended last night, will cost Union County about $20,000. That’s all paid for by taxpayers.
